Windows & Linux · Encrypted sync
Your clipboard, encrypted by default
CMDV captures history locally, encrypts with AES-256-GCM before anything leaves your machine, and offers optional end-to-end sync across devices.

Built for privacy-first workflows
Everything below ships in the desktop app today — no account required for local use; sync is optional.
-
Clipboard history
Text and images — captured automatically with search, filters, and favorites.
-
Zero-knowledge encryption
AES-256-GCM locally before sync. Your keys stay on your devices and OS keychain.
-
Mnemonic recovery
BIP-39 phrase for backup and pairing new devices without trusting the server.
-
Cloud sync
Optional end-to-end encrypted sync across machines — client encrypts, API stores blobs.
-
Tray & shortcuts
Runs in the system tray with a global shortcut (Ctrl+U) and silent GitHub updates.
How it works
- 1
Install locally
Grab the NSIS installer or Linux bundle. Your vault lives in SQLCipher on disk; keys in the OS keychain.
- 2
Copy as usual
CMDV watches the clipboard, classifies entries, and keeps an encrypted history you can search and favorite.
- 3
Sync when you want
Turn on sync to push E2E-encrypted blobs — pairing uses your mnemonic; the server never sees plaintext.
